Iakov Ivanovich Beliavskii

Яков Иванович Белявский
1746–1809

In the 1790s with the rank of captain he served as supervisor of public navigation schools in St. Petersburg. He printed his translations from French at his own expense: "The Children's Counselor" (“Detskii sovetnik”) (anonymous essay) and "Children's Games, or Amusements of Innocence" (“Detskie igry, ili Zabavy nevinnosti”) by Aimé Ambroise Joseph Feutry. He is the author of a number of odes and epistles addressed to his patrons.
