Александр  Данилов

Apparently he was a student at Moscow University; a nobleman with the same name studied there in the 1780s - early 1790s on a state allowance. Under this name several translations from German were printed: “Raznye anekdoty, soderzhashchie v sebe mudrye deianiia, velikodushnye i dobrodetelnye postupki, ostroumnye otvety, liubopytnye priiatnye i plachevnye proisshestviia i sluzhashchie k polze, zabave, udovolstviiu i obrazovaniiu vsiakogo sostoianiia liudei” (1792) ("Various anecdotes containing wise deeds, generous and virtuous behavior, witty answers, curious, pleasant and pitiable incidents, - and serving to the benefit, amusement, pleasure and education of every state of people") and “Prevratnost’ schastiia, ili Udivitel’nye prikliucheniia grafa Konstantina Turvilia” (1793) ("The vicissitudes of happiness, or the Amazing Adventures of Count Constantin Tourville").
